After a disappointing 3-3 draw with Abbey Hey today at Gigg Lane, Bryan Ly spoke to the club to give us his thoughts on the game
Bryan Ly: “Disappointing, from the start it looked like we weren’t going to score, and the defence still looks too shaky and obviously they score quite fast and obviously we had a few chances in the first half, but we couldn’t take them. It always feels like we give ourselves a mountain to climb, we go into half time 1-0 down but than we go back out and grab the equaliser and then we get a second and I’m like wow and then they score again and I’m like oh no and then we get the 3rd and we think there’s only 4 minutes left but than again we make a mistake and they grab an equaliser and they get the draw so yeah disappointing.”
Bryan then told us how they feel about the consistent highs and lows of the teams form this season, with him saying “Yeah, the manager said it earlier that our form at the start of the season painted over some cracks and we’re beginning to see them now, but we have to fix these cracks. We have two massive games coming up and realistically everyone knows we’ve got to win those games to have any chance of winning the title but I’m still confident.
He than told us about how its good to have the character and ability to get back into games despite setbacks, he said: “It’s good to have it amongst the squad but at the end of the day we should be putting teams away. I’m not saying were like too good or anything but when we have the chances we had we should be putting teams away because the quality we have is massive and I’ll admit the chance in the first half I had with the header I should’ve scored but Rusty and Alex also had a chance and if we score them we go in 3-1 up at half time and then in the second half we can cruise but we’re constantly giving ourselves a mountain to climb and that needs to change.”
Bryan than gave us his thoughts on another 2 goals scored in 2 games, he said:” It’s nice to score but as I said earlier I couldn’t care about scoring if we’re not getting the 3 points if you told me I didn’t score and we got the 3 points I would’ve shaken your hand off but yeah it’s nice to get the goals but I’d rather the 3 points.
He than looked ahead to Friday’s clash against Chadderton with him saying “We know what their about they’ll make it tough and they’ll give us a fight but as Nicky [Adams] said we got to get through these fights and that’s what’s coming this Friday.”
