Bury drew 3-3 today with Abbey Hey with the shakers conceding a last-minute equaliser todays captain Bobby Carroll spoke to the club to give us his thoughts.
Bobby Carroll: Difficult one to take obviously with us conceding late on it was a big blow and we obviously didn’t start great conceding a goal really early but than we came out in the second half looked really bright scored 2 and then we conceded that goal late on and it was a real low blow for the boys and we weren’t great defensively but it isn’t just the defenders it’s all over the pitch and we need to work on set pieces.”
He added onto this by saying “Yeah, I think we’ve conceded too many but it’s not even near our keeper it’s high up and they’re just overloading the box but yeah it’s something to look at.”
Bobby than told us about other issues they hope to put right before the Chadderton game, he said: “A lot, it’s not just set pieces they should’ve been put to bed because we had a few chances that we should’ve scored and yeah I think they only had 3 on target and scored all 3 but yeah it’s just one of them today.”
Today’s captain than looked ahead to this Friday’s clash against Chadderton.
Bobby Carroll: “It’ll be a really tough game, and we’ve already played them twice, we had a good win at home and then played them at home in the cup and lost on penalties so we know we’re going to be in for a tough battle, but this result makes it a must win so we’re going to go there on Friday night and get the win.”
Bobby than gave a message to the fans after some audible boos at half time he said: “Look the lads in there are hurting just as much as you but we’re going to put it right and we’ve got a big game on Friday and then a big game on Saturday but if we win both of them we’re back in the mix.”
