Bury stormed past Colne FC to a 4-0 victory today and today Man Of The Match Bryan Ly gave us his thoughts on today’s win.
Bryan Ly: “I thought from minute 1 to 90 we controlled the game. Coming back from Wednesday it was embarrassing from the likes of our club you know with players and management we thought we let the club down. So, we had to come here and show everyone why were contenders and I thought we were more controlled I mean Aarons come in and set the tone for the back and us attackers take it from there.”
He then spoke about the need to get 3 points today after Wednesday’s disappointing performance, he said “Yeah obviously, teams will be looking at us and wanting us to slip up if we do have a bad result that we carry on that form, but you know we have a quality group so even if we do slip up in 1 game we’ll just put it right the next game you know. The manager said it’s a clean slate and we’ve done that from minute one to 90.”
Bryan then spoke about his goal as he continued his scoring streak to 2 in the last 3 games, he said “Yeah, it’s a huge positive, obviously coming off the back of a 32-goal season there’s a bit of pressure on me to score goals but sometimes it might not happen because when you force things it typically doesn’t but when I get on the pitch and on the ball it comes naturally so I don’t have to force it. The lads know we must move it quick and having Nicky in midfield now helps me a lot as he controls things and talked to me about little things, and we did it and I scored so it’s all good.”
He then spoke about the need for a consistent home form as we head into that top-of-the-table clash against Ramsbottom on Boxing day
Bryan Ly: “Like we said at the beginning of the season when teams come to Gigg Lane we can’t give them anything and it must be a fortress pretty much scared already but yeah, we must continue our form, and keep doing what we are good at and things will fall into place.
Bryan then finished the interview by looking ahead to Tuesday’s game against Irlam, he said: “It’ll be a tough game we played them a couple of times last season and we know what they’re about they’ll be horrible, and they will try and play it.”
