Bury ran out 5-2 winners over local rivals Prestwich to end 2024 top of the Premier Division attacker Morgan Homson-Smith gave his thoughts on the game when speaking to the club following his 1st start for the shakers.
Morgan Homson-Smirh: “First half I thought we was a bit complacent; we were a bit slow, didn’t move the ball as we know we can but picked it up in the second half and got the three points.”
He then spoke about the positives of returning to Bury to develop his fitness with him saying “Yeah, I played a bit out there, it’s a lot different than it is here, it’s a lot warmer but yeah, it’s good to be back. I’d much prefer being here anyway.”
He then added onto this when speaking about him having friends within the group “Yeah, see I’ve got a lot of mates here, so yeah, it’s great to be back. “
Morgan then spoke about the need to use experience from last season when it comes to playing in this league, he said: “Yeah, we know what it’s like in this league, anyone can beat anyone, just got to stick together and play the way we can and feel like we can beat anyone on our day.”
To finish the interview Morgan then looked ahead to the second half of the season saying “Yeah, back to one game a week, I think that’ll only benefit us, two training sessions, as I said we’ve got a good group, a great bunch of players, so yeah, we’ve just got to kick on, keep going, keep winning games and I’m sure we’ll be right up there.”
